TRIPROBOSCUS
Its 2050 AD. The world is in the middle of a long horrid war. It is dark and the morbid smell in the dense air is nauseating. Once a beautiful world, that some of us were fortunate to see, is almost turned into a carcass of the same. Triproboscus - this giant creature has been spotted by some in and around certain water bodies with industrial waste in Russia. If this is a missing link from the evolutionary chain or a result of genetic mutation created through the ongoing bio-chemical war, no one knows.
Here’s a creature design from a story that I have been writing and designing for a film/game.
This is a part of a series of Creature Designs that I am working on for an independent project.
THE HARBINGER
“Midway through the Arctic expedition, when he is separated from his team, he knows that he is lost. Walking through the freezing cold with no food and water he walks across several miles until he can’t. Soon his mind starts playing him and the boundaries between illusions and reality fade. Peeping through the white ice-bearing winds, almost like a shadow, walks in the golden stag. He had heard of the myth but now he was seeing it. The horns shone in gold and carried on them, tiny but hungry, carnivorous ravens. He knew this was the end.”
Decided to do this piece of concept art for a story that I am writing.
THE CHASE
I had recently watched a Western and wanted to experiment with the colors.
PLEASE DON'T CRY...SALLY
Its really interesting, how story is always the hero. This was a part of an experiment, when a story that had remained prisoned in my mind for far too long, and needed to be released. With a challenge of time and money, I started with this illustrative medium. Eventually, it was so loved by a producer, that I got to assume it in the form of a short film.
CHHOTI SI AASHA
'Chhoti Si Aasha' is a film which is still in the pre production stages and it talks about a very sensitive subject of children being pushed into the Naxal movement in India. I consider myself fortunate to have been a part of this wonderful project.
Following are a few look frames that I got to illustrate with a brief from the director.
THE BUG WARRIOR
In the deep, impregnable woods lived an army of these warriors defending their space and protecting their Queen-The Bug Warriors.
F.A.L.T.U- TITLE SEQUENCE
F.A.L.T.U was a Bollywood Teen Flick. I got to design and direct the title sequence which was also released as a very popular music video. The already released posters were bright and funky with a lot of vector graphics. I tried keeping it in the similar space and assumed a Pop Up Book kind of style for the same. Unfortunately, I am not being able to share the video due to issues related to copy rights.
