FRICTIONLESS PAYMENT DEMO FILM - APPY PARKING

I designed and directed this 30 secs film for Appy Parking, London, demonstrating the features in a new app for their launch. Heres a sneak peak into the exploration process to the final film.

AGENT VINOD-TITLE SEQUENCE

I designed and co-directed this title sequence for the Bollywood blockbuster, Agent Vinod. I sketched out the original concepts, supervised the shoot and then led the CG artists through to delivery. Here, you can see some of my early sketches, photoshop look frames and the finished project.

It was a Spy film and the "AVANTEGARDE" look to the title sequence lent itself very interestingly to the subject.

These are a few initial sketches that were done while exploring the final style, the look and feel and the edit.

Eventually, we stuck to the red, white and black theme and designed graphic sequences interspersed with live action. It was a mix of a live action chase with the key action shots  going hi-speed on a graphic sequence. 

DUSHMAN MERA-DON2-MUSIC VIDEO-END TITLES

'Dushman Mera', this song from the Bollywood film, Don 2, starring, superstar Shahrukh Khan and the Quantico Star, Priyanka Chopra, was designed and co-directed by me. A sense of intrigue blended with sensuousness and darkness was the core idea, that was tried in this video, which eventually was also played as the end credit for the film. I designed the sequences as digital paintings, supervised the shoot and supervised the CG/ VFX through the final output of the project.

EXCEL ENTERTAINMENT-LOGO ANIMATION

Excel Entertainment happens to be a famous Film Production House in Bollywood.The logo animation had to be ethereal and magnanimous in feel.The mascot was designed to be this man with a giant flag.The story was woven in such a way, that the man holding this giant flag, was shown trying to raise it to the world signifying the glory and pride.The edit unfolded itself with a final crescendo where we see the man raise the flag and the name of the production company revealing, all enveloped in the midst of fantasy in the atmosphere around.

I designed the logo, the character, supervised the CG and directed the film. It started with the logo design. Then the storyboard followed and eventually designed a few frames on photoshop using assets created on maya.

MOVING PICTURE COMPANY-LOGO ANIMATION

Moving Picture Films Pvt Ltd. is another Film Production house in Bollywood,Mumbai. Tried doing a rather funky depiction of a typical hindi film premise where there is drama,romance and action.A Hero,Heroine and a Villain....dance,music and a hell lot of masala.

I had to play multiple roles here, right from designing the film, to designing the characters, to animating the characters on Maya to supervising other aspects of CG like the modelling, rigging and shading all the way to the final compositing. I also had to supervise the music for this piece.

DAY 1 ON MIX-2014

Sony Mix, is one of the best known brands, in the Music Channel space, in India.Day 1 on Mix happens to be the day special on 1st of Jan every year.The design was kept ornate with a very linear and simple storyline..The story was of seasons and time flying by with motiffs derived from seasons and festivals in India. January is the time for the Kite Festival, February, a beautiful spring with the Valentine's day, heading to the summers and through the rains arriving to Diwali, in October followed by a December Christmas. The idea was to show the transition to finally arrive at 1st of Jan on the dial of a watch. Lenovo rode as the sponsor for the film. 

I designed and directed the film. It started with a few sketches to design the sequences and the supervised the execution on Maya and After Effects.

THE DANSEUSE-SONY MIX IDENT

For us the world we live in and its beauty derives itself from music. A danseuse's art-form is one such instance. It enamours and captivates because it is inseparably married to music. And yet, ask the danseuse and her thoughts on music will be that it sets her free. That was the beauty of this overarching inspiration that you will find in this channel ident for Sony Mix. Following is the style frame for the look and feel of the film.

I designed look frames first , then did a storyboard for the sequences, directed and eventually supervised the CG for this beautiful piece.

Zoe Estebe- Logo Animation

Zoe Estebe is a Film Production house in India.The design was imagined around a story which basically explained the process of film making, graphically, which included the emotions like action and romance that actors exude on screen to the capture of audio and the Director's vision behind all this, where he spins a story and strings the events together.

I designed and directed the film. I did the character designs, look frames using Photoshop and Maya and supervised the complete CG.
